Charles McCray is a simple man: he enjoys model train layouts, a clean house, and has never cared much for status. He has a wife and a child on the way, and wants just one thing: their happiness.

After Charles loses his wife during the birth of his daughter Emily, Charles slowly discovers that his dreams have a unique power to them: they are a portal to his past.

When Charles accidentally goes back in time to 1999, he finds his Anna alive and well, but Emily is gone, like she never existed at all.

As Charles tries to save his wife and recreate Emily by traveling back in time over and over again to 1999, he changes dramatically - and so does his mission.
